When you work for yourself, Reader, especially when much of that work is behind a screen, it’s easy to feel alone. But after reading your responses last week, I know that’s far from true. I’ve been sending emails since 2011. 😱 And yet, so much of this creative work feels like tossing ideas into the void. Your replies remind me there’s a whole world of you out there. Here’s what I know about you: You want connection. You want reminders that it’s all going to be okay—and that while it’s on its way to being okay, you’re okay too. You want to grow, to rest (even if you’re not sure how), and to know you’re not alone. The truth is, the name of this newsletter matters less than the fact that we’re here together. But I took your feedback, mixed it with what feels right to me right now, and landed on: 🌿 Going Upward: Where clarity and action meet what matters most. This phrase captures what I help you do:
When you have all three, you create an upward spiral in your life. Miss one, and it’s easy to feel stuck, scattered, or out of sync with yourself. They're also part of cycle that helps to explore and refine your quest to create a life you love. ⬇️ You have dreams and goals that would make life better for you—and ripple out to make the world better too. I want this space to help you keep moving toward them. I’d love to know: What else would you like to see here—free downloads, tutorials, answers to your questions? Feel free to email me any specific questions you'd like to see me cover. I’ve got plenty of ideas, but I want to get clear on what you most want before I take action. In Joy, Nyssa P.S. Fall is bringing in some changes to my massage practice. See all the news here -- including new packages! 🎉 Upcoming Availability:Wednesday, August 13th 1:30pm - 4pm Monday, August 18th 5:30pm Wednesday, August 20th 11:30am

This week’s Full Moon is all about talking… to ourselves. I love that it arrives right at the end of the year but the start of the month. It feels like an invitation to have an honest, compassionate conversation with yourself about the year you just lived. For me, the Full Moon is a sacred monthly check-in—one of those natural pause points where I reconnect with what I want, what I’ve learned, and what’s shifted. (If you want to go deeper into this, I have a workshop that helps guide the...
The past few weeks in my treatment room I've had different versions of what feels like the same conversation: "I just need to get through Thanksgiving." Some clients are managing the duties of hosting like a professional caterer. (That's us. 🙋♀️) Others are doing Olympic-level schedule coordination to make it to several meals in the same day. Either way, there's usually a factor of "... and I have to talk to so-and-so." You know the one I'm talking about. 👀 They're the family member you have...
It usually starts with a tiny little bottle. My mom’s story did. She was traveling to California in a VW van in the ’70s when they stopped at a flea market in Texas (of all places). That’s where she found her first “tiny little bottles.” They were labeled essential oils—or at least the closest thing to real essential oils you could find back then. She started putting them in her massage oils, and that was it. She read everything she could get her hands on, started a school and wrote books....
