seriously, this DOES work

The dust of the New Year is settling. Projects be project-ing. Tasks might be piling up.

And what about that thing you said, "2025 will be the year I ..."

If overwhelm is creeping in, make this one habit something you DID do in 2025:

Never have more than 3 priorities.

Seriously, Reader, this message made it to your inbox because it was one of my 3 priorities for today.

(It works!)

I start the day knowing what critical few things need my attention most, so at least those few things get done.

Try it now!

Look at your list for the day/week and ask:

  • What things on this list must get done first?
  • What tasks are most important for me right now?
  • Which items are most aligned with my current goals?

Pick the 3 that stand out and focus on those first.

Don’t worry: Choosing these doesn't mean that you'll ignore the rest.

But it does mean you're more likely to accomplish what's really important to you.

There's so much that doesn't matter vying for your attention everyday.

Learning how to focus on what matters can be the difference between living a life you want and living a life that you don’t.

You deserve to live the life you want.

In Joy,

Nyssa

P.S. I'd love to help you do MORE of what you do want. That's what Coaching is for.

Every summer, one of my relatives inevitably says: “Happy Chindependence Day.” It goes back to 2008. The early days of YouTube, when my roommate and I discovered chin face—that absurd thing where you draw a face on your chin, cover your eyes with a towel, and record it upside-down. Most of my dad’s siblings were visiting for the fourth of July. Twenty-four-year-old me thought it would be hilarious to do a full improv monologue from the perspective of a chin who had declared independence from...

They say a lotus grows from mud. I’ve seen vines grow from concrete. Yesterday, I spotted one pushing up through the crack between my house and our not-even-two-year-old porch slab. Nature is amazing. So are you, Reader. Some of the biggest lessons come from what feels dry, brittle, and stuck—yet somehow, new life breaks through. This time of year, I like to reflect on the past six months and dig up the gems hiding in the rough. Here’s what I’ve learned: I need routine—but one that breathes....

A friend asked me yesterday, "How are you treating yourself right now?" I'm embarrassed to say that I really had to think about it. The first few things that came to mind were all work-related. Don't get me wrong, I love my job. But I don't think those count as treats. Then I remembered that I had a fascial booked today. While booking my next appointment with the esthetician, I took advantage of the bowl of chocolates set out. This morning, I gave myself an extra 5 minutes to slow down and...
